Just over a year ago DMV native Kamiyada released a bold track packed with plenty of 808 slides and the perfect amount of anime references. In the intro, Kamiyada gives a brief shout out to Original God, The Virus, and other known Midnight Society affiliates. Throughout the duration of the song, Kamiyada raps his way through a lucid anxiety attack, then achieves a zen-like state, all while watching anime. Then, with plenty of colorful imagery, Kamiyada threatens anyone foolish enough to test him. Every bass drop is chillworthy, and the first time hearing this song one can only be in awe of both Dutchman‘s production as well as the lyrical skill behind it. The Original God and Yung Bitch have verses that mesh very well together as they elevate one anothers bars. All in all, a beautifully made, timeless bop not lacking in anime references “I’m just taking shots/ you just taking L’s/ Ghost in a Shell.” Despite being released over a year ago, this track is a must listen, particularly if you want to delve into the discography of the exceptionally talented international collective Midnight Society.
