The Khan – Just Like Me (prod. OOGIE MANE)

Music videos are always an important accompaniment to a good song. It adds professionalism and sometimes needed visual stimulant, and even aids in the remembrance of the particular song. Essentially, a memorable music video makes a catchy song, even catchier.

“Just Like Me” by The Khan (prod. OOGIE MANE) is an exact example of this theory. Filmed and edited by MOSHPIT and directed by The Khan himself, “Just Like Me” kept the vintage feel at a perfect level. Using clips of Marilyn Manson, Kurt Cobain, and Jimi Hendrix as transitions added a convenient homage. The cinematography overall is impressive, and the video has a low-contrast, grainy feel without overdoing special effects. The Khan flawlessly adds to OOGIE MANE’s dark and brooding production with bars like “… I heard that you a stain/ I know that you a rookie, how you thirsty for the fame”

Although “Just Like Me” is a hype song, the video had cool, mellow hues throughout enhancing a chill mood. While there wasn’t a specific plotline, just shots of The Khan loitering a gas station and smoking outside of a hardware shop, it didn’t really need one. The last minute of the video is a tribute to the late Lil Peep, with a lingering photo of The Khan and Peep that is sure to tug on your feelings a little bit. Check out the full video below.
