To celebrate the release of his first project Surrender Your Soul, Killy announced a Canada wide tour that began in Toronto on March 8th; just two days after the drop of the project.
The concert took place at the Phoenix Concert Theatre, after tickets sold out in just two minutes for the smaller Mod Club. Although the concert had no notable guests, Killy brought his friend SEGA to open the show for him, and the two performers carried the entirety of the two hour show. Sega was brought on to hype up the crowd before Killy even showed up on stage, and did so by performing some of the biggest hits out right now. He rapped along to 6ix9ine’s “Gummo” and “Keke”, and Trippie Redd’s “Dark Knight Dummo”, which both got the crowd riled up and aggressive. However, the real highlight of his covers were the Toronto hits that he performed; such as K-Money’s “Come Outside” and the summer sensation “Gresida Blanco” by Pengz and TwoTwo
After roughly an hour, Killy himself came out and began to perform. For the next hour his energy remained high as he ran through all five of his big singles and the entirely of his new project. Surprisingly, he did not perform any of his old SoundCloud hits, but there was never a point where the songs began to feel stagnant. Moreover, Killy understood how to keep the audience engaged and changed the way that he performed certain songs. When “Fireflies” came on, he became much less aggressive, instead choosing to focus on his vocal delivery of the track. Importantly, when the time came to turn up, Killy did so with incredible energy. During the beat drops for some of his biggest hits such as “Distance” and “Very Scary”, water bottles were whipped at the crowd, strobe lights were flashed, and Killy would propel himself across the stage. The crowd was just as into it, as mosh pits were opened during the tracks and the floor became more lively than at any other point in the concert. Overall, Killy managed to create an experience at his concert. The performance propelled his project forward and added another layer of depth to the already concrete tracks. Prior to the show Killy tweeted that he wanted only “ragers” showing up, and whether it was truly a crowd of insane moshers or his energy that propelled the crowd to incredible levels of madness, the results created an amazing show that brought his tweet to life. Despite the short length of Killy’s performance and no notable guests the concert was still worth the incredibly cheap price of just $20 CAD and proved Killys versatility as an artist and performer.
