At the beginning of last year David Shawty released Honda on his SoundCloud page. A song with a hype MexikoDro beat and an infectious chorus. The song quickly racked up a couple hundred thousand views and became a hit for David. The song officially put David on the map and he has since released other songs that push the boundaries of what most people would call, “plugg beats.”
David’s music sounds as influenced by Bladee as it does a Playboi Carti or Rich The Kid and he’s not afraid to be different than other artists in his community. His songs, “Erase M3“, “Die by Fire” and “Roses” are innovative and catchy. He’s a truly different type of artist for the scene.
A little more than a year following “Honda’s” release, David has dropped the video for it on his own YouTube channel. The visuals are striking and the song has stayed fresh and interesting sounding even after a full year. David is one of the more experimental artists in the underground plugg community often making his own beats and going into territory most would be afraid to explore, this David Shawty song is like his pop anthem.
