Listen to BONES’ “Filament” (prod by Curtis Heron)

Whenever you press play on a Curtis Heron track, you can’t exactly know what to expect. Never sticking to one style, the TeamSESH producer constantly shape shifts with his production, sometimes opting for beautifully ominous and electronic melodies, and other times taking a classical boom-bap hip hop approach. The masterful artist once again exemplifies his one of a kind production by teaming up with fellow TeamSESH member Bones on their latest track “Filament.”

Opening up with Curtis’ eerie hi hats, Bones almost instantly comes in on the track with a calm demeanor and cadence. The man himself explains in his own words that he “jump[s] in like fuck is a drop,” defying classical hip hop conventions. As a matter of fact, there is not much conventional about this Curtis Heron production. At a mere one minute and fifty four seconds, there is only one verse and a two bar outro where Bones switches his vocal delivery for a whispered song like chant.

“Filament” ends as the track fades out, offering us just a taste of what is to come from Heron’s EP dropping in May. A true Underdog, we can not wait to see what Curtis Heron and the rest of teamsesh2k18 bring to the table this year. Until the EP, check out the track above.
