Following poe leeche

A post-hardcore lover born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, poe leeche began his solo project just 3 months ago to satisfy the craving to create his own music. With a strong pop punk influence evident in both lyrical and vocal style, listening to his music you would have thought he had been following some of the trap/punk crossover artists for quite some time now. However, after speaking with poe leeche, he explained that he “actually recently found out about this style of music around 4 months ago when [he] randomly came across Lil Lotus and [he] absolutely loved it”.

Poe leeche released his first track “Yung Luv” in February of this year. Using a popular 4evr beat, he caught some attention with his classic emo lyrics and undeniable talent. Since then he’s released a number of singles, one with emerging artist convolk, as well as an EP with Sleye and Brady Amour “Love Letters” last week.

Also just recently, a group page was formed Nature/Nurture including both of the artists included on the “Love Letters” EP. When inquiring further about the intentions of this group, poe leeche explained: “So nature/nurture was made by me and my close homie Sleye. We clicked very well together while we were making our new EP with Brady Amour and we decided to form something out of it. Everyone in the nature/nurture [are] like-minded individuals with a desire to grow together. We eventually intend on releasing huge collabs on that page. But its basically a collective of unique people who stick to the same genre but make very different sounding music.”

Nature/Nurture isn’t the only project poe leeche is involved in, in fact he has a total of 3 groups he currently works with. Besides nature/nurture, he is part of a pop punk band Cabin Fever, and a new two-piece band called safehold (which we should expect to hear singles from soon) that he formed with a member of his original band.

On top of all this, he has also contributed some seriously impressive features. All too frequently artists on soundcloud will share weak content with peers who want to collaborate, but this is not the case with poe leeche. Listening to either of his most recent features in “i was lonely” by Lil Perch or “Redlight Shawty” by Lonnell Suave, it is clear that he puts just as much effort into writing for others’ work as he does for his own.

While poe leeche has really only just begun creating content, his multiple projects, talented implementation of his rock roots, and flexibility with working with others will undoubtedly lead him to success. When asking him how far he’s willing to take his music career, he responds:

“I would absolutely love to do this full time. I love music and the community and friends I have made from it in this short time. Right now I am trying to set myself apart from other people while staying in the same realm of music I’m already making. Maybe one day I will be able to do this for a living but for now, it is just a hobby I am super passionate about.”
