Jero – 3 Sides to Every Story (Prod. Gus Chvany)

Gracing our pages for the first time, Jero returns from a 4 month hiatus from releasing music with a hard hitting song titled “3 Sides to Every Story.” The song takes you through the perspectives of a mother, an absent father, and son as they figure out the status and value of their intertwining relationships. We can presume this is experience is one Jero has first hand, due to emotion that breaks through the lyrics. His word play is that of someone who is seasoned in this game, with structured lyrics and ability to tell a story that also keeps the audience interested.

The track, produced by Gus Chvany, has a reminiscent sound that transitions smoothly as the perspectives change. We get every side to the story and get to decide the one we resonate with most. The beat is gleamy and dynamic, a perfect match for Jero’s taut and demanding voice. His story is one you have to hear, and even if you don’t relate, one that will bring you to a raw state of emotion.

The two transitions that signal from the mother to father’s side and the father to son’s side are that of two completely different sounds. The first transition is dark and eerie-hinting at the antagonist position the father holds while the second transition is calmed and collected-showing us that Jero has put a lot of thought into how he views this situation.

Not only did the song demonstrate his technical abilities, but the ability he has to entrap you in the context of the song and make you feel whatever he’s feeling.

“3 Sides to Every Story” has us on our toes to see what Jero has next in store. Listen to the story-like track above.
