In the underground, we appreciate those who display a strong sense of style. In our “Fits of the Week” segment, we pick our top five favorite outfits of the week and compile them into one list.
1) Ratthew (@wolfdrawn)
BMX rider & designer, Ratthew, flexxed with a super flame new hair dye look this week. A buzz cut with an expertly crafted black and white checkerboard pattern done by @genesistheangel, the aesthetic complements his signature bold, dark and graphic style perfectly so its basically guaranteed that all of his looks for the next couple of months are going to be killer. With checkerboard socks to match, his outfit is draped up in all black. The decayed punk type ransom note lettering of his @sowet69 t-shirt complements the checkerboard motif as well. His classic slip-on Vans were a great styling choice as they are widely known for helping infiltrate their signature checkerboard pattern into the music scene.
2) Kyra Cherie (@tacobell_dsl)
Model and fashion icon based out of New York, dark queen Kyra Cherie was seen in an advanced level proper 1890’s gone Nightmare before Christmas apocalyptic type look this week. Her outfits always slay but this one in particular features multiple original styling tricks. The puffy sleeves give a prim outdated conservative royalty feel yet are torn up to look a bit zombie style and overlaid with a skimpy Hot Topic-esque triangle bra which matches her thigh high stockings. The luxurious pearl necklace plays to the 1890’s upper class socialite feel but is contrasted heavily by her fully split-seam distressed, folded over jeans turned skirt. The belly chain, leather boots and oversized black sequin jacket tie the look together. Her black and white cow print purse and white speckled face makeup add a bit of fun contrast along with her gorgeous signature waist-length braids.
3) The Khan (@atomoskhan)
Washington DC-based musician, The Khan, is sporting highly chill vibes in this casual all black look. His rare Home Depot jersey gives construction and health goth vibes but paired with rolled cuff black denim makes for a relaxed everyday type outfit. The solid black Timberland boots are a staple piece to complete the look and give workwear vibes. Along with a comfortable headbun and minimal gold jewelry, this cool outfit is very utilitarian and street friendly.
4) La Goony Chonga (@lagoonychonga)
Cuban rap queen, La Goony Chonga, of Gwallah Gang was spotted looking fresh to death this week in a retro style allover pattern single shoulder dress by @vallyg_irl. The print looks very 70’s flower power, yet the sophisticated striping looks more modern. The orange floral stripe somewhat resembles barbed wire. The self-fabric matching headband and tiny white triangle glasses glam it up for a super fly, feminine summer look.
5) Rockit (@failinglunch)
Flexxed up in a highly lit 3M reflective windbreaker, musician Rockit, was seen looking mad cool this week hanging out with a multitude of Takashi Murakami flowers. Aside from the two big plushies on the couch, his red Goyard messenger bag has a mini Murakami flower plushie clipped on for elevated swag. His black skinny jeans, t-shirt and white Nike shoes remain classic while the mirrored mini sunglasses and colorful mixed pattern beanie both elevate and tie the outfit together for a rare look.
