In the underground, we appreciate those who display a strong sense of style. In our “Fits of the Week” segment, we pick our top five favorite outfits of the week and compile them into one list.
1) Rayn (@heavyrayn)
London-based artist Rayn is known for sporting some of the toughest and most original styles in the game but this look from earlier this week is particularly top notch. All strapped up in hi-contrast black and white taping reading Digby Jackson (the name of the brand), his outfit is broken up into multiple graphic sections. They layering of the differing subtle shades of white gives off sterile hospital gauze type vibes along with a bit of spacore, health goth, and football padding influenced feel. Overall, the refined monochrome outfit is very elegant and looks comfortable as well, especially topped off with glow in the dark 3M reflective sneakers.
2) Saphir (@saphir1996)
Last weekend LA-based musician Saphir was spotted in a super cute pair of Realtree overalls. Layered with a black tanktop underneath, this outfit is perfect for any utilitarian workwear needs but is aesthetically pleasing enough to transition into a fire club look at night. Her sick ball chain necklace is made by SoWet and keeps this rad outfit far enough away from farming and hunting territory to stay fly. Her bright green hair transcends this look into swamp goth territory.
3) LA underground scene gathering
A couple days ago pretty much all the key players of the underground scene were spotted kicking it together at the Cha Cha Lounge in Los Angeles; Horsehead, Fantasy Camp, Hot Leather, Ratthew, Genesis the Angel, Jon Simmons, Smrtdeath, Above Heaven, Nedarb, Pulling Teeeth, Lil Zubin and Lil Lotus all in one room… rare. All of their outfits are highly cohesive. Lots of black white and red, old band shirts especially with black metal lettering, plaid pants, nightmare before Christmas stripes, skinny jeans, chokers and collegiate type streetwear shirts. This group shot is a great example of what fashion looks like in the goth/emo underground music scene at the moment.
4) Ouija Macc (@fuccouija)
Detroit based musician, Ouija Macc, of Psychopathic Records was spotted looking extra fresh this week in this photo for Blind Death clothing. His silky basketball type shorts have one hot pink leg and one black leg, each with opposite colored lettering across the upper thigh area. The magenta coloring complements his dreds perfectly as the pale green chunky sunglasses match the faded green suitcase as well. His oversize black hoodie and t-shirt keep things classic, gothic and modern along with the staple skate hi vans and tall socks perfect for everyday wear.
5) GalaxyGrl (@galaxyygrl)
Draped up in all black from head to toe, Portland-based musician Katie Kimes aka GalaxyGrl looks like a mega babe in this extra witchy look from earlier this week. Her layered tulle petticoat type circle mini skirt is adorned with a rad collection of assorted skinny silver chains. Paired with a crop top band tee and chunky square toed black lace up platform boots, this outfit is super great. Her long side swept hair and gorgeous black ink tattoos make her look like a dark fairy queen to die for.
