Los Angeles based rapper, EyeKeem recently dropped his latest single “Ridin,” teaming up with Hella Sketchy. It’s been around one month since EyeKeem’s last release, and it has been well worth the wait. EyeKeem has grabbed Hella Sketchy for previous songs such as “Woah” and “No Trust”, but only for his production. This time around Hella Sketchy got behind the microphone. The mastermind behind this beat is Josh Petruccio, part of Internet Money Records.
“Ridin” takes you through a melodic drive of sorts. While the track doesn’t aim to have the most complex lyrics, this song gives off a good feel. I asked EyeKeem about the process for making this single, with which he replied “Sketchy is a real cool dude to work with he’s my bro for real for real. We freestyled that song so it was done fast! We found a nice beat we both liked and just started freestyling hooks til one caught on.” Clearly, these two have a knack for this, crafting a hit with damn near no effort.
Having already worked with acts such as Warhol, Tracy, ThouxanBanFauni and several tracks produced by Charlie Shuffler, I see nothing but a bright future for EyeKeem. He is one of those artists with a sound that could launch him into mainstream success at any moment, I look forward to seeing more from this dude in the future. For now check out “Ridin” below.
