Get Familiar with Chris Vayle, Anti-World’s Rising Star

From within the depths of Anti-World has emerged the collective’s next rising star, Chris Vayle. The 17 year old Memphis native has achieved a staggering level of success within the past year that has put him on the radar of listeners. Currently sitting near half a million streams on SoundCloud, the young rapper got his start in music at a young age. Even though he has been writing and making music since the age of 9, he first got serious about it during his freshman year of high school around late 2014. “I released my first song around that time as well. It was called ‘Fandust’ because I had really horrible allergies to dust and shit, was like an Earl Sweatshirt type beat song of just me rambling in a monotone voice.”

“…I started out working with Shy and hoping on songs for his tapes he dropped hella often.”

Working and improving his on his craft throughout his high school career he made connections throughout the underground industry, eventually meeting some Anti-World members through the internet. “…I started out working with Shy and hoping on songs for his tapes he dropped hella often. As time progressed, I built friendships with all of them. Then I met CXRPSE through a Discord chat and we started making music literally days after. I eventually ended up featuring on his profile in the summer of 2017 and shot a music video for the song “REGRET” but I didn’t have a place to upload it. He told me I could upload it on the Anti-World channel and a few days later he threw me in the Twitter groupchat and said I was in.”

Vayle’s charm and appeal can be said to come from of two key factors, 1; the wealth of talent under the Anti-World umbrella, and 2; his wider, less niche appeal. The first, his work with Anti-World members comes from his musical ambition and collaboration with fellow artists. He might be one of the newest members of Anti-World but he hasn’t let this infancy stop him from making moves within the group. Already working with a large portion of the talented vocalists and producers he’s put out hits such as “REGRET” and “HOLD UR TONGUE” which have done numbers on both YouTube and SoundCloud. Both of those songs are products of his frequent collaborations with CXRPSE, but his discography goes on to include other hitmakers you may be familiar with including R7, Kill Stacy, 1KCaim, and Hector Vae.

The second, his less niche appeal is pretty self explanatory. To say that Vayle isn’t one of the eccentric members of Anti-World (fka weird clvn) would be an understatement. When the collective has members amongst its ranks that actively sport black lipstick and nail polish like Eric North, or stunningly haute high heel platform boots as in Sybyr’s case, his rise to popularity becomes more easy to understand. Many love Anti-World for these exact reasons, but to the wider, more mainstream audience that is the average rap music fan, aesthetic trends like these are still subjects of ridicule.

Undoubtedly with the rise of emo rap these trends have become more accepted and commonplace, but we are currently in the weird transitional phase between fully embracing fringe social trends and sticking to what most would consider “normal”. This frontier is where Chris Vayle’s success can be placed. He’s different enough to be attractive to niche loving fans of Anti-World’s music, but also not quite eccentric enough to turn off potential listeners from delving deep into his musical library and becoming fans. His work seems to have paid off as he has posted previously on his Instagram that labels are already hitting him up ready to sign. We have no doubt that we will be hearing more from him in the future as his career begins to pick up momentum and bring more spotlight onto the Anti-World member.
