Making our pages for the first time this week is Lil Turbo, another immensely talented artist on the rise. Earlier in the week, the South Carolina artist dropped a single titled “REDRUMURDER” featuring Texako. This is his second single to drop on SoundCloud since the Turbo Mode EP that came a couple months back. The song was joint produced by killabeatz and zaetheplug. There are a lot aggressive bars scattered all throughout the track, one on the chorus being “Fuck all the talk, where is the action”. Texako adds his own flavor to this song with his unique style that adds a bit of a ‘woah’ factor on this one. The contrast in voices and use of heavily autotuned adlibs really leaves its mark. The dark, blood covered artwork for the song fits the title perfectly; adding to the dark energy of the song. Lil Turbo spoke with us about how this track came to be;
“I couldn’t find any beats in the studio I was feeling that day, so I started looking through my messages & hit up killa. I was already kinda mad so I named the track how I was feeling. And only certain niggas know what niggas mean when they say “redrum”. So I named the track “redrumurder”. I was gone drop it but I hit my bro Texako up and he was ready to hop on. But this nigga took a week to send it back & I finally posted it with the cover art from @ayecolek. The feedback is crazy though everyone’s rocking with it heavy.”
