smrtdeath‘s track “imma shine like the best coke that u ever had” and its accompanying music video can be best described as a novelty in its purest form. The song itself is a classic Sethany hit released by trxsh gxng. Produced by gotgash and cleverly sampling Miley Cyrus’s “Party in the U.S.A”, the audio compliments the visuals in an incredibly satisfying way.
Setting the scene ironically somewhere in Canada, his gang arrives at the door of an elaborate home and are greeted by a skeptical old man who reluctantly but quickly allows them to enter. The group of Canadian cohorts set an example of a rockstar lifestyle – they smoke, put on makeup, do some blow, and steal a car. One of mouthsore‘s best videos to date, the following scenes (narrated independently of the song) tell a quirky story without distracting from the lyrics whatsoever.
mouthsore told Underground Underdogs that it, “Was an insane shoot… the first hummer guy bailed on me 20 minutes before we were supposed to meet him and then it started hailing on us [laughs]. It’s confirmed that people who own hummers are the worst people in the world.”
Regardless of the intended message of the song or the anecdotal events depicted in the various scenes, the footage is as cute as smrtdeath himself and is unmistakably unique to his brand. I highly recommend you watch it in its entirety as the video only gets better as it progresses and will likely set a new standard for smrtdeath’s music videos going forward.
