After Riverkinn’s stunningly original 2018 album The Fox with Cloven Hooves, his latest infinity meter produced single, “Deku Tree” shows us that he is just getting started on pushing his limits as an artist. “Deku Tree” breaks out with a deliciously deep synth beat, embodying a dark, nearly gothic club vibe. Riverkinn’s vocals echo in between the tense, vibrating beats, as he sings to his scorned lover. The track creates an entire dreamscape, a wild chase in the woods, the wind and the rain beating on your back.

“Please pick me up / Don’t let me fall / Into this grave with six foot walls / My lungs collapse / Blood fills my mouth / Here comes the rain to drown me out / Drown me out”

Riverkinn maintains his signature macab and poetic lyrics in “Deku Tree” all while plunging deeper into the heart of existential dread and anxiety. Riverkinn is incredibly hard to pin down as an artist. We never know what he is going to come at us with next, which is incredibly refreshing. His masterful and crisp approach to his music reaches everything he touches, and this track is no exception.

“I did enough / Now I’ve given up / Can’t keep living like this / I’m giving up / I let it go too far / Didn’t I? / I can’t figure out / How to live a different life / A different life”

Riverkinn’s ability to bridge the gap between pop, hip-hop, alternative, and trap gives truly his strong point as a producer, lyricist and artist. We can’t wait to see what Riverkinn will delivers next with his prolific work flow.
