ECLAIRE Exhibits Promise on New Single “Far Cry”

If you’re looking for criminally underrated music, look no further than Baton Rouge rapper ECLAIRE. The Louisiana native has been pushing out some serious singles for a while now, with couple honorable mentions being “Faith” and “dirty eclaire.” His newest single “Far Cry” is equally impressive.

ECLAIRE is a multifaceted artist who has tried out a variety flows on a wide range of beats, some leaning towards traditional hip-hop, and others sounding almost like alternative rock. His southern influence and accent is easy to discern, yet he still remains unique. There’s something to be said for an artist who can sonically represent their hometown,  while still maintaining their own individuality. The experimentation with instrumentals and cadences shows a lot of creativity for such a new artist and there’s potential there to create a whole new sound.

This beat builds slow and really starts with a sharp cut into ECLAIRE’s vocals. Many of the lyrics on his singles are serious, and deal with both external and internal struggle. “Far Cry” begins and ends with ECLAIRE rapping “I can’t stop. I’m too far gone I can’t lie. I’m in too deep I might drown. Pray for me and stand strong, I’m trying to make it out.” The heavy words set the tone for the rest of the song, which is basically one long verse. He separates himself from the rest of the crowd, giving comparison after comparison in a series of boastful bars. If you’re looking for a brand new artist to listen to, or just want to hear some quality music, dive into ECLAIRE’s work and give his latest track a play.
