Tommy Ice And Covolk Share A Joint Statement To “Fake Friends”

Rising Atlanta artist Tommy Ice has released a new track titled “fake friends” featuring Convolk.  This track continues the hot streak for Tommy Ice, following the release of “With Me” just days before. The two built rapport when they met at SXSW.

The song was produced by Tommy Ice himself, under his producer-pseudoname yung castor, crafting the ideal sound to spill their feelings towards artificial people in their lives holding them back. The subject matter is a refreshing take on a relationship song, not focusing on significant others, but rather aimed at the other people that we often get frustrated with  friends. Adding a Convolk verse was a nice touch for this track. You get a taste of what’s to come in his verse during the first 15 seconds of the track before it cuts and goes to Tommy’s part. He gets things off his chest by proclaiming,

“…Can’t fly they ground me, negative energy it just surrounds me, getting the bag on my own, never felt solo before, labels they want me but they cannot have me cause I want a billi or more.”

The way Tommy Ice lays down the chorus in a nonchalant manner is what makes this track. “Fake friends around me I feel like drowning, drugs make my head hurt help me forget her. Fake friends around me that shit make me sick, drugs calm my brain and I might pick up bitch.” After a few listens it’s borderline hypnotizing.
