smrtdeath is back, and this time it was completely unintentional. Uploading the MP3 for an unreleased track on SoundCloud, the Canadian native laughs as he explains that, “I meant to put the track on private, and didn’t realize it was public until I was already on the way to the airport today.” However, there are such things as happy accidents, for the mistake led to the release of the cartoon ben produced single “make my own bag.”
After an intro with a steely guitar riff that would even put Tom Delonge to shame, we are met with a smrtdeath that is braggadocious as ever. The red haired vocalist makes it clear that no one does it better than him, and he lets us all know in an effortless fashion. More than aware that all eyes are on him and his posse, smrtdeath brushes the attention aside. With a slew of copycats and wannabes, smrtdeath proclaims, “I ain’t worried ’bout your lil ass plays.” Why not? Well, because “You ain’t never made a couple racks in a day.” Sethany is quickly making his own bag, and he’s letting us know he won’t stop anytime soon.
smrtdeath has been an incredibly exciting act to follow, and it appears that he is at the tipping point of stardom. Working with close collaborators Lil Aaron and Lil Lotus in Boyfriendz, we can expect more music from the colorful trio sooner than later. smrtdeath has also teased a side-project with producer y2k, which is slated to be announced once smrtdeath makes the social media accounts for the band.
Perhaps most excitingly, smrtdeath will be touring the greater part of the United States this November and December as support for nothing, nowhere. and Wicca Phase, which you can grab tickets for here.
