Lil Lotus is Angelically “Left Alone”

Within the past year, Lil Lotus has continued to emerge throughout the underground with dedicated perseverance and an incredible voice. From supporting emo sensation nothing, nowhere. on his nationwide tour to releasing a slew of hard hitting singles and projects sprinkled throughout the last few months, Lil Lotus has proven he has the ability to carry the workload of a true artist. While Lotus has not released a solo video for quite some time, he has introspectively resurfaced with “Left Alone”.

The song begins with a somber tone, rife with emotional distress. Lotus softly echoes his sentiments about a newly splitting relationship.

Everyday is a new day, new problems and we fall apart // Tell me that it’s okay, I know it’s not yeah I knew from the start

While Lotus come to terms with how this relationship has pivoted to a narrow end, his heart ache rings true. With poignant vocal transitions Lotus emphatically promises his dedication through the hardships he foresees. He chooses to stay even though the feelings between the two are clearly not mutual.

Directed and edited by both Daniel Jordan K and Tommy Bauer, the video brings the song to life with a surreal approach. Blending shots of dark animations around Lotus complete the visual aesthetic to match the tone of the track. Lotus is framed face to face with black smoke and angelic representations, seemingly a depiction of his own inner struggles.

Throughout the song Lotus’ vocal tenor brings the guitar sampled beat to life. The minimal percussion allows Lotus to breathe within the instrumental and keeps the emotional vibe of the song at a steady pace.

She said two lefts don’t make a right // But they do, Im dying to see you // When you’re done, running away from the past // And I’m just, a ghost in the rearview

The progression Lotus has shown throughout his relatively new career is astounding. While Lotus’ last video is close to one million views and he currently sits at around thirty thousand SoundCloud followers, “Left Alone” is sure to be a welcome hit for fans of both the mainstream and underground scenes. With a possibility of his upcoming debut album looming ahead, Lil Lotus has established that he is sure to keep ahead of the curve with his creative momentum.
