Midnight Society member Original God has just released a video for his track “Tell Me Why.” The catchy pop-punk tune was produced by mokes for the recent album I Died In Tokyo, and has quickly became a fan favorite. With minutes of overlapping, eye-catching displays, videographer Steven Jets delivers visuals that admirably showcase the personality of this rising talent.
The song begins by diving into the tuneful hook, then cutting straight into a poignant verse. As Original God spills his feelings of regret, a combination of colors, the city, and Devilman Crybaby is devoured by the viewers’ eyes. Keeping up with the up-tempo song, the video cuts quickly from clip to clip — one minute OG is seen in gloomy setting with female companion, the next he is jumping around with his friends and having a good time. The atmosphere captures the true feeling of the song; having racing thoughts about past mistakes and multiple questions that have yet to be answered, but still trying to find a way to come to terms with the things that cannot be changed.

Offering advice to listeners within his second verse, Original God pleads, “Tell your family you love them tell that girl she’s the one, I wasted too much damn time with my head pressed to a gun.” The conclusion of this verse is followed by a repetition of the song’s unforgettable hook and snippets of OG letting loose. In the final moments of the video, a quick peek of convolk and lil narnia is given before reaching a complete, fulfilled ending.
