Like two teenagers playing tricks on Halloween night, Savage Ga$p and Shinigami wreak havoc in the video for their new , “pumpkins scream in the dead of night.” The video, shot by raheazy, complements the hard-hitting track — it’s simple, it’s raw, and it’s a little bit twisted.
The pair deliver their frightening vocals over city lights and neighborhood streets. The entire aesthetic of the music video is a glitched out VCR recording, sometimes fast-forwarding and rewinding, or cutting out completely between glitches. The video maintains a playful yet sinister vibe, as the dynamic duo wander the streets and rap in the backseat of a car. For a majority of the video, you can find Savage Ga$p holding an oversized keyblade.
Both Savage Ga$p and Shinigami boast their dark-sides in “pumpkins scream in the dead of night.” Ga$p croaks, “Shinigami told me kill ‘em, I said let me get my Death Note.” Shinigami appears almost demonic in his close-ups, with blacked out eyes glowing in the dim light from the camera. The dark home video recording comes to a close with the two flipping off the camera before withdrawing into the darkness once more.
Be sure to catch Savage Ga$p and Shinigami (and many others) during The Where Are All My Friends Tour and be on the lookout for Shinigami’s new project, grimworld coming soon. Until then, dive into “pumpkins scream in the dead of night” music video below.
