Prolific vocalist Gizmo is an artist that’s been in the game for an awful lot longer than many people may realise, however his recent burst of content has built up his name at a rapid pace, with new releases coming out from every angle. His newest visual for prior release “Dead Body Vandal” is a perfect example of why this attention is well deserved.
This track is terrifying, with visuals to match. Directed by Turtle.mov, the video is set in an amusement park with eerie lighting and tense atmosphere topped off with nightmarish clowns running amok. This dark theme suits to the mood of the track ideally, with Gizmos signature aggression on full display.
The instrumental, produced by Midnight Society member Dutchman, starts out with an unnerving tone; slight skittish chimes glimmer in the backdrop. Booming percussion drop in to build up the tension before the track hits. The beat kicks in, with chaotic hats rolling dangerously over the thumping 808s. Gizmo jumps straight into the track without hesitation and takes no prisoners.
Most people know of Gizmo from his blood curdling screams over hard hitting tracks, however as of late his talent for a natural, agile flow has been on high demand and “Dead Body Vandal” is no exception. Wrestling the instrumental with ease, the artist sways around the track without taking a a breath, whilst throwing in grotesquely morbid lines such as “…We breathe and eat the feces of the world, we’re so greedy,” calling out the bullshit on what he sees around him.
Despite his long run, Gizmo is far from running low on gas, with hard hitting releases like this it’s exciting to see what the future may hold.
