TJ Porter Touts His Incredible Potential in His New Video Glowin’ Up

TJ Porter, the young rapper hailing from Harlem, recently dropped his third video for the track “Glowin’ Up.” Remaining as consistent as always, the track is a high octane rush. The video finds Porter both recollecting at his hustle to get to his current position in the industry, and looking to the future, striving for more. The track represents a shift in Porter’s career as he goes from a young kid playing basketball on Harlem courts and rapping for fun, to realizing his own potential and working hard to live up to it. His determination has already netted him a record deal with Def Jam and over 400 thousand views on just two music videos, the earliest of which was posted just three months ago.

The track itself released on Soundcloud prior to the visuals, despite being dropped only a couple days earlier, has already racked up an impressive 40 thousand plays. Clocking in at only two minutes, the video is filled to the brim with highlights. Between the stacks of money, foreign cars, and all types of Yeezy’s, Porter’s lyrics and fast flow shine through the most. With lines like “They don’t want me to win, they know if I get it then ain’t no controlling us”, Porter knows his his ultimate goal to rise to the top of the rap game, and has confidence in his ability to do so. The dreary synths matched with the trap sounding percussion are the perfect backdrop for Porter’s catchy delivery and lyrics to a better life. At only 18 Porter’s career has only begun, but “Glowin’ Up” perfectly exemplifies why the young rapper has made it so far already, and why he is so likely to see commercial success in the future.
