Good Intent Sells Love on new song “Watchu Need”

Los Angeles based vocalist, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and cupid’s arrow wielding heartbreaker, Good Intent, has been actively developing his unique brand of so-called ‘loverboy music’ within the past few years. Good Intent has produced songs for major artists such as Goldlink and Ski Mask The Slump God, as he himself has simultaneously built upon his own catalog of music. While he last appeared on Captain Crunch’s “Beverly Hillbillies” tape late last year, his newest release, “Watchu Need,” is his first official single of 2019.

The song finds Good Intent snugly doing what he does best as he delivers his musings on love and relationships. His outlook on the subject is increasingly cynical throughout the track as he uses his deceptively charming and melodic vocal style to deliver lines that reflect his current point of view on love such as, “heart got cold and money got long” or “too many good girls want to be hoes now.”

The self-produced single is marked by an irresistibly catchy R&B inspired guitar riff paired along with a steady rhythm of trap drums. Bits of electronic piano leads are inserted into the chorus to accent Good Intent’s vocal melodies as he sings:

I just got so high I cut that bitch off on my Future shit // Girl I don’t know who you is // I just made more money than you could know what to do with it // I made more than two of him // She wish there was two of me // I just need one more to feel complete // Turn the standard to a suite //I’m slangin’ love baby watchu need?

It’s a strong, quotable chorus that truly reflects Good Intent’s heartbreaker persona and demonstrates that the effects of cupid’s arrow are just as temporary as anything else in life. The song itself is expertly crafted with lines and melodies that glue themselves to listener’s corresponding eardrums. The pop sensibilities here are so strong that it can only be a matter of time before Good Intent experiences his share of stardom, and ultimately gains an even wider audience to sling his love to.
