Smrtdeath, Horse Head, Zubin, and Fish Narc Assemble for “Head Of Glass”

Coming together for the first time as a quartet on their new release “Head Of Glass” is none other than Horse Head, Smrtdeath, Zubin, and fish narc. Produced by fish narc and mixed/mastered by YAWNS, the song seems to mimic the euphony of an alternative song yet remains delightedly familiar in its structure.

Taking the first verse as well as opening the track is Horse Head; “Spend my days inside, only go out at night and the things you say can make feel me alright though I know it’s temporary,” feelings of evident longing for more out of a relationship than what is being offered are poured out. Immediately following is the modulating voice of Zubin who sings the chorus throughout the song:

“And in waking up with nothing in my head of glass falls, it breaks and shatters.”

Expressing severe heartache, Smrthdeath moves through the second verse as if he were telling a story, “Tried and tried to make you mine, but you always leave by surprise. I hate that I believed my dreams.” A brief instrumental is played and the song begins to pick up tempo; the chorus is repeated two times and another instrumental can be heard before the song reaches its end.

“Head Of Glass” will allure you in with its buoyant sound and fascinate you with its emotionally driven lyricism. Feelings of heartache and want are expressed throughout the song, yet are masked in a way by its up-tempo beat. It is apparent that this track was well thought out and definitely well executed. Although this is the first time that these four have worked together on a single, we hope to hear more from them in the future.
