Celestia Reminisces On Her New Song “Permanent Persistence”

Singer and songwriter Celestia recently released a new track titled “permanent persistence” which finds the singer at her best, creating a beautiful atmosphere, filled with hard hitting lyrics. The two minute and forty second track, is incredibly successful because of Celestia’s dreamy, entrancing vocals intertwining with incredible production done by producer Mixed Matches. The beat is is laid back and with lo-fi influence, which provides an excellent background for Celestia’s vocals. The ethereal synths and melodies are contrasted well with the punchy hats and snares that Mixed Matches chose to use for the drum patterns. The beat excels due to its simplicity, it has enough of a presence to make itself known, but Matches knows when to hold back and allow Celestia to shine and executes that plan to great success.

Despite the incredible production, what really makes “permanent persistence” stand out is Celestia’s vocal delivery combined with the fantastic mixing done by inochi. Celestia has always stood out as a great singer, and this track only further exemplifies that. The smooth vocals alongside the reverb and delay done in the mixing are trancelike and showcase Celestia’s brilliant ability to create catchy and creative melodies. The lyrics on permanent persistence only add to the overall experience, as Celestia’s lyrics create a feeling of despair and regret when she sings lines like “I lie awake at night. Uneasy until the day. The world shows some compassion. Wasting the ticking just by passing. I don’t wanna lose like that again.” Instead of using gimmicks, Celestia uses her talent as both an amazing singer and excellent songwriter to create a beautiful piece of work on “permanent persistence”.
