In the last six months, Oliver Francis has exceedingly improved upon his craft at every turn. From humble beginnings recording late at night after working a miserable daytime occupation, Francis has truly become an underground inspiration. Whether it be his increasingly focused song structures, his polished self production or his visually stunning videos, Francis continually multiplies in greatness. With his newest track and music video, “SEPHIROTH“, Francis expands upon how many of the newest up and coming rappers fraudulently strive to be as impeccable as he has become.
Beginning the video, a reoccurring piano sample echoes alongside multiple angles of Francis. Accompanied by adorning rings and presumable cannabis smoke, Francis looks as determined as ever in his newly debuted hair color. Shot by frequent collaborators Aahj and Artripoli, the video features a lone Oliver swaying through his own swagger unafraid of any who dare challenge him.
Self produced, you lil boys still stealin’ type beats Got yourself some Bathing Ape, you tryna be just like me
The video highlights Francis proclaiming his dominance over the music industry in various fields and in the passenger seat of a convertible. Through quick cuts and bright flashes, Francis blooms rapping coherent vaunt planted lines. As the video progresses, Francis maintains the theme of the song with his persistent self declaration of greatness.
Francis compliments the thunderous 808 sub with references to multiple different anime characters including Misa Amane from the popular series Death Note as well as various characters from the famous Dragon Ball franchise.
Like his previous effort with “DANNY PHANTOM,” Francis has revolutionized his craft by tenaciously focusing his hand on songwriting. While Francis has hinted that his newer music sounds more focused and fun than ever like on “SEPHIROTH,” he still has fans clamoring for the tentatively titled project Overdrive. Until an official announcement is made concerning what Francis project will be out next, watch the video to “SEPHIROTH” below.
