It seems Luna 4K has taken a respite from his typical hobbies of hacking international banks and siphoning Bitcoin to release a small offering of self produced downtrodden singles. Thus far, the humble collection includes “Millions (I’m so rich)” and a modern take on the classic “Cute Without The E,” each with their own shimmer of lavish taste. The third release, “Castor Troy” and it’s accompanying video serve to deepen our limited understanding of the illusive Luna 4K and his true nature.
The flashes of character that have been displayed thus far culminate here in the also-self-produced visuals for “Castor Troy.” Tongue in cheek 90’s villainy with underlying nihilist tendencies and an affinity for flavored Seltzer encapsulate the audio/visual approach.
Subtle synth plucks twinkle and hang in the open space between a loping trap percussion beat. Restrained, pleading vocal melodies are paired with boisterous, violent, yet at times vulnerable word choice. The atmosphere set up here is soothing and leaves plenty of room for Luna4k’s tepid voice to linger. Vocal refrains reveal his “evil ways,” as he memorably recites his desire to remove a man’s face. Several interesting lines accentuated by backtracks coated with 90’s unison and distortion effects match well with the visual callbacks to Face/Off, the 1997 action movie from which the namesake is lifted.
This appears to be the beginning of Luna4k, and with each track that is released, a more concise artist emerges. Luna4K denied all request for comment, most likely for fear of IP tracing. Watch below and subscribe for more exclusive Music Videos and Interviews.
