Keep up to date with the songs you need to hear each week by following our Underground Unleashed playlist on Spotify here:

Big Baby Scumbag – “Fall Out Boy”

Florida’s very own Big Baby Scumbag continues his uninterrupted stream of releases with his Yung Cortex produced single “Fall Out Boy.” He spits witty and relentless flows, and with a music video that showcases pitbulls and Popeyes, what’s not to like?

Lerado Khalil – “Miss Myself”

After remaining relatively quiet following the release of his acclaimed 2018 debut album Shark Fin Soup, Lerado Khalil dropped the down-tempo single “Miss Myself” a few months ago. Produced by the enigmatic Harrison, the metallic track offers us a glimpse of what is yet to come from the Minnesotan rapper.

Eddy Baker – “THEYWANTMEDEAD” Ft. Yung Cortex (Prod. Yung Cortex)

Eddy Baker and Yung Cortex have recently combined forces for their NO REST FOR THE WICKED EP, which sounds like it should have been released via cassette in a futuristic parallel of the 1980’s instead of just last week ago SoundCloud. Featuring vocals from Cortex, impetuous near-screams set a tone of reckless excitement complimented by Eddy’s high energy verses.

Kill Whitey – “POTTY MOUTH”

With lyrics like “shit piss cunt dick poopy cummie penis butt,” it’s easy to write off Kill Whitey as a vulgar comedic rapper not to be taken seriously. Yet if you look in between the lines, you’ll realize the rapper’s absurdity is incredibly refreshing and insightful. Perhaps this can be best seen in the music video for the titular track off his album POTTY MOUTH.

Lil Xtra – “Thought U Should Know” (Prod. DeliverTheCrush)

Dubbed by Underground Underdogs as “the hidden gem of rock-rap” earlier this year, Atlanta’s Lil Xtra opened his most recent project Spring Never Comes with “Thought U Should Know.” The airy and melodic track features his masterful flows as well as rich production from DeliverTheCrush.

WiFiGawd – “On Me” Feat. Wiki (Prod. Tony Seltzer)

Pitchfork‘s Alphonse Pierre once said that WiFiGawd can spit any over any sound or BPM, and “On Me” proves no different. The D.C. rapper recruited New York’s Wiki for a relaxed single featuring dissonant production from Tony Seltzer.

foreign forest – “differently” ft. jxsh

Over the past 3 years, foreign forest has been carefully assembling songs for pretty songs i like 2 cry 2. The 19-track album is ripe with features, including this peaceful acoustic track with an accompanying verse from jxsh.

Sullii – “20”

Hailing from South England, Sullii has recently been making noise with his peaceful croons and extensive touring all across Europe with nothing, nowhere. and guccihighwaters. Sullii’s high vocal range paired with the atmospheric production on his recent album You and Everything Blue offers this vulnerable track.

Blvth – “Blissless” (feat. Slug Christ and Fences)

No stranger to Underground Underdogs, Slug Christ has released only a few singles since his 2018 album Judas’ Betrayal and the Three Day Burial of a Salted Slug. Berlin musician Blvth’s existential track “Blissless” is an unlikely yet welcome collaboration, which samples a demo from Seattle-based artist Fences and vocals from Slugger.

dream, ivory – “Scorpion”

It’s not often that Underground Underdogs features an indie band, yet dream, ivory is an exception we’re willing to make since the two-piece consists of producer Ginseng (a.k.a. Lil Wintr) and his brother Louie. Start the week off right with their reverb-drenched track “Scorpion,” the first single from their upcoming album Lost Dogs.
