10 Songs You Need To Hear this Week

Featuring MISOGI, Cold Hart & YAWNS, Saphir, Austin Skinner, Vision4k, and more.

MISOGI

Keep up to date with essential songs from underground artists by following our Unleashed playlist on Spotify here:

MISOGI- “Bloody Margielas”

MISOGI has been one of the luminaries of modern production, having worked with the likes of Bones, Night Lovell, Lil Yachty, and even Lil Pump. However, the London based artist’s own music is a stark contrast from his masterful hip-hop productions, combining his own vocals with elements of shoegaze, new-wave, post-punk, and emo-rock. “Bloody Margielas” is only one of the many highlights on Misogi’s meticulously crafted and highly anticipated second album, Blood Moon Underworld.

Cold Hart & YAWNS – “Nick Cave In”

For months, Cold Hart and YAWNS have been teasing their full-length studio album Good Morning Cruel World. Last Friday, listeners finally got a taste of what’s to come with “Nick Cave In,” aptly named after one of Cold Hart’s largest influences — gothic-rock cult figure Nick Cave.

Saphir x Dead Robot – “Wings Apart”

Saphir has had a powerful 2019, releasing various music videos and singles at a frenetic rate. Her single “Wings Apart” is no different, which has Saphir’s harmonious vocals over EDM-based production from longtime collaborator Dead Robot.

Austin Skinner  – “Anything” ft. Belis (prod. Woody Taylor & Nick Mira)

After a near death experience, Virginia’s Austin Skinner has failed to let the startling incident slow him by releasing a slew of singles. Over poignant and evocative production, Skinner’s latest track “Anything” features light and airy vocals from frequent collaborator Belis.

Vision4k – “Puppet” (prod. wildcard & Vision4k)

After months of anticipation and snippets, Vision4k has released his debut album Recluse. “Puppet” is just one of the many standouts on the incredibly cohesive project, which has a single feature from Fifty Grand as well as production by Wildcard, Iankon, Lukrative, Ginseng, and Vision4k himself.

d1v – “a fix” (prod. anteven)

When thinking of Sweden, most underground aficionados would instantly think of either Yung Lean or Bladee. Yet d1v and his collaborators have been cultivating a second rap renaissance in the Nordic country, and “a fix” serves as yet another exciting taste from the Swedish rapper.

Drippin So Pretty – “True Pain” (prod. Nedarb)

Following the release of his debut album True Love True Pain, Drippin So Pretty released the music video for the downtrodden track “True Pain.” His project features production from OGs like Charlie Shuffler, Nedarb, John Mello, and Yng Mojo, as well as a guest verse from Brennan Savage.

Lil Raven – “Blood Roses”

Having just come off the Goth Cowboy tour with longtime friends and collaborators Lil Tracy and Buku Bandz, Lil Raven is keeping his foot on the gas with the single “Blood Roses.” Produced by prettyboyron, the bouncy guitar-based track serves as anthemic ode to love lost.

smrtdeath – “stranger” (prod. tax purposes)

With his first major release since his 2018 album We’ll Be Alright, smrtdeath has teamed up yet again with Wisconsin producer tax purposes for “stranger.” The Canadian vocalist confronts his own mortality in the single, which was released alongside an equally morbid music video.

David Wolves – “Touring Test”

The first ever single from David Wolves, “Touring Test” is a strong introduction from the Colombian-American artist. The track was produced in a shed in Wolve’s backyard, and showcases bassy synths and a multitude of vocal deliveries.
