10cellphones Returns With New Single “LEAN”

The Charlotte rapper shares his highly-coveted track produced by Shon Lindauer

After the recent release of his newest project 10 in July, 10cellphones has no problem giving fans more of what they want. Following up on the fabled rifle-toting Triller-video snippet, he is finally ready to present the full version of “LEAN”, which is accompanied by its own Liam Mcbride-directed visual

10cellphones is no stranger to demonstrating his versatility, approaching this song by pairing his typical tenacity with grisly transmission. He attacks alongside a haunting instrumental, produced by Shon Lindauer, which without introduction pulls the listener into an eerie yet calculated wormhole of percussion. As hi-hats and percussive hits duel over a memorably sinister piano melody, 10cellphones takes no time in proclaiming that he’ll be starting a new dance with this one. Bringing purposeful and coarse delivery, he starts off, “Lean with it / rock with it / 50-round drum in my glock with it.” An incessant 808-line powers the song’s tempo, which is kept up with as he discusses his spending, fashion, mental state, and polygamous proclivity. “Fucked up in the head / so stop dissin,” he warns, moving on to clever jabs like, “Your bitch always pull up / she got perfect attendance.”

The official music video also embodies the energy of his brash subject matter, producing a nostalgic scene with gloomy visual editing, an entourage of associates, and an orange-tipped handgun or two. He is persistently straight forward but with good reason, as he exclaims, “Way back then they was shittin’ on me / now I got bags and I’m shittin’ on em.” While keeping the overtone generally grim and menacing, 10cellphones pairs it with his upbeat energy to craft an entertaining listen.
