After first making waves in 2018 with his song “Run Shannon Run” and releasing multiple projects throughout 2019, BBY GOYARD starts the new year off strong with his debut album Euphoria. Fans have been patiently waiting for more collaborations between the artist and producer Mixed Matches, especially after the success of their past work, “the ugly truth” and “the ugly truth pt. 2” series. Now, the duo delivers a chaotic, futuristic, upbeat album.

After experimenting with different production styles in the past year—from EDM and rave music inspired beats to hard-hitting post-trap instrumentals—BBY GOYARD settles on a more ambient, psychedelic, and futuristic perspective, bordering between rap, pop, and nightcore. Through his signature style, the artist alternates between pitch-modified, auto-tuned singing and more regular rap flows. Clever, humorous rhymes and obscure references like “Car go Ridiculousness like Rob” and “Russian plug/Gotta keep a hammer and a sickle” make for a very fun, lighthearted listen, but the artist also offers a deeper perspective by exploring more serious topics. “Life hits hard when you think it’s goin’ smooth; heartbreak sun, frown on the beach—what a place to be,” the young artist reflects.
