“Gaslight” is the second single to be shared from Ntu’s upcoming EP Perfect Blue. Despite having only seven tracks on his SoundCloud, Ntu is beginning to craft a unique sound, taking on a hybrid of influences. R&B, electronica, and resemblances of pop sensibility culminate in the form of an original and exciting perspective. Describing himself as a producer of “warp music,” Ntu’s experimental approach is reflected in the idiosyncratic production on “Gaslight.” Written by Ntu, Murielle, and Abby T, the track explores themes of infatuation, distrust, and manipulative relationships. Soft vocals reflect on intrusive questions, whispering, “You keep asking // where I been at,” while an addictive hook is transformed by intensifying calls for “Gaslight, then leave? I dare you.” Utilizing his voice as an instrument, the emotionally charged track is complimented by warped synths and fractured guitar. With Perfect Blue set to be released on May 22, familiarize yourself with “Gaslight” below.
