Listen to Limbo’s latest album “lonely but never alone”

In her latest album lonely but never alone Los Angeles based artist Limbo blissfully turns the world around her into a series of 13 beautiful self-produced tracks. A direct work of art referencing the emotions and experiences of her every day life.

What I find so captivating by Limbo’s art is her ability to not only recreate her feelings through music, but in many of her songs she does not need words to do it. Two songs that accomplish this especially well are performer and empath. Limbo explains performer is a recreation of “what the feeling sounds like when i’m on stage”, and empath the feeling of feeling everyone else’s pain.

My personal favorite however has to be her song child, which Limbo goes on to say is “for my child i will one day have in the future. i love you so much already”. The attention to detail in this song is phenomenal, capturing both the feeling and the sounds of a little one living in our presence. Small details that equate to a very full song that radiates a strong emotion of love and care.

While several of the tracks on this album don’t have vocals on them, some things just have to be said. In the track quote un quote Limbo expresses her feelings towards an abusive ex and the destructive behavior she fears he will use to hurt other people. The song is extremely straight forward and yields and important message about how the entertainment industry does not punish those with such a toxic background. At least not immediately.

It is no doubt that lonely but never alone is some of Limbo’s most powerful work. A story book of songs each complimenting each other that help us understand what goes on inside the mind of the girl behind the mask. I’m excited to continue watching her journey through art and eager to know what’s next for the cat-girl.
